Welcome to our 5th Grade Classroom! My name is Mrs. Sara Neill, and I am so excited to be part of your child's educational journey this year.
I grew up in this amazing community, attending Prospect Elementary (as part of the final 6th grade class!) before graduating from Weld Central High School. It has been incredibly special to return to the community that helped shape me and now have the opportunity to pour back into the next generation of learners.
This is my sixth year at CCA and my third year teaching 5th grade. My journey at CCA has allowed me to wear many hats over the years, including Intermediate Aide, Primary Reading Intervention Aide, and In-House Substitute Teacher. Watching our school community grow alongside my own family has been such a blessing. Both of my boys began their educational journey at CCA, and having the opportunity to invest in the same school community that has poured so much into my own children is incredibly meaningful to me. It truly feels like a full-circle moment to teach, serve, and give back to the school that continues to help shape my family.
I believe fifth grade is one of the most exciting years in elementary school. It is a year of tremendous growth—academically, socially, and personally—as students begin to discover who they are and what they are capable of. Fifth graders are at such a fun age—they are independent enough to tackle big ideas, curious enough to ask thoughtful questions, and still young enough to get excited about the little things. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, and celebrate their progress along the way. I want every student to leave my classroom not only more confident in their abilities but excited about learning and ready for whatever comes next.
I am a firm believer that learning never stops, and I love continuing my own educational journey alongside my students. When I'm not in the classroom, you'll usually find me curled up with a cup of coffee and a good book, designing and creating custom apparel, or spending time outdoors with my family. We love camping, boating, and exploring the Colorado backcountry. If it involves sunshine and being outside during the summer, we're all in!
