1st Grade

Hello, my name is Jennifer Oldland, I am the first grade teacher at CCA.  I am passionate about helping young learners build the confidence and skills they need to become successful readers and mathematicians. Having taught both first and second grade, I have had the privilege of supporting students as they develop strong academic foundations and grow in confidence.

I hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Reading. My greatest passion is teaching children the code of reading, helping them understand the relationships between letters and sounds so they can become confident, fluent readers. I also enjoy making math come alive through engaging, hands-on experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

I believe every child has the ability to learn and succeed in a supportive classroom where curiosity is celebrated, mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth, and high expectations inspire students to reach their full potential. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and excited to learn each day!
