Happy Friday, CCA Families!
Someone brought to my attention this morning that today is the last school day in August, and it made me stop and think. The last three weeks have just flown by! Everyone at CCA is in high teaching and learning gear. It is truly mesmerizing to watch our teachers instruct, while students are soaking in every drop of learning they can (even on the tired days). Eighth grade received a sundae party for creating CCA's first school wide call back: "Cardinals in the nest - We learn the best!" They actually had four choices for our CCA Leadership Team, but all leaders agreed that this one, incorporating our mascot and learning, was the winner. Thank you, Eighth Grade!! Seventh grade students and chaperones returned from the Sand Dunes a bit weary and tired today. It was shared with me that these students received multiple compliments from the many places they visited on their trip. We are so proud of our Cardinal Character! Great job, Seventh Grade!! Get some rest this weekend.
FYI: - Staffing Updates: Now that we are back in full swing, we would like to share some staffing updates to the CCA Team. Be on the lookout for a "Special Edition" update next week with all of our team changes: New Faces in Great Places AND Familiar Faces in New Places.
- Handbook Signatures: As noted below, please take time to read and discuss the Student & Parent Handbook, as well as the Chromebook/Technology and insurance agreements. Once you and your student understand the expectations, please sign and return the forms.
Enjoy your weekend!

If you like the cold and playing in the snow, have we got a volunteer opportunity for you. CCA is looking for assistance with clearing snow from the sidewalks and basketball court this winter before students start walking on them. Maybe we're being a bit optimistic, but better to prepare than to scramble as an afterthought. We even have the tools you will need: snowblower, shovels, and ice melt. All we need is the muscle to put behind it all. If this sounds like something you would just love to help with, please contact Mrs. Cole in the office. Fall Festival is coming up fast! PTO will be sharing information and would love your help with this CCA tradition. A planning meeting will be held on Sept. 3. Watch for details in the PTO update on ParentSquare next week!
**For the safety of students, staff, and visitors, please check in with our friendly office crew when you arrive at CCA so that we are able to account for all in the event of unforeseen circumstances. |
Mrs. Johnson - Thank you for the opportunities to expand students' learning outside of the school walls, like the 7th grade Sand Dunes trip! Great memories are always formed. All chaperones to the Sand Dunes - Thank you for your support and for keeping our students safe and engaged: Mr. Cook, Mrs. Hogan, Mrs. Workman, Mrs. Rosling, Mr. Rupple CCA Office Crew: Thank you for keeping things running smoothly and taking care of our staff, students, families, and guests with a smile even in the busiest of times! CCA Students: Thank you for all of the high fives, hugs, artwork, stories. You make every day a celebration, keeping our hearts happy and energized! Mrs. T: Thank you for keeping our school clean and safe for all who enter. Officer Cory: Thank you for helping to keep the CCA community safe in and out of school. |

We Care was started in 2004 to help two students who, while on their way back to Weld Central for a sports activity, were involved in a very serious car accident. One of the kids was left paralyzed as a result of their injuries. In true community fashion, students, parents, staff and community members pulled together and held a fundraiser that raised over $15,000 to help cover a portion of her medical costs. We found it to be such a worthy cause that we have forged on, helping well over 150 families in our district since then.
Nominations for families facing hardship are taken throughout the year by classroom teachers, then evaluated by the committee. Assistance is based on the level of need. At CCA, we show our support by wearing hats on the first Friday of every month for a $2 donation. We also participate in the annual spring fundraiser; usually a 5K or Faculty Follies accompanied by a community breakfast or dinner and a silent auction. We appreciate your continued support of this excellent cause. If you have any questions, please contact Emilee Klausner. ~ PLEASE NOTE NEXT FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH IS OUR FIRST, FIRST FRIDAY HAT DAY FOR A $2 DONATION! |
Please make sure your children are safe and in their car seat or booster seat! This applies to children 8 and under, regardless of weight. If you have any questions, I would be happy to have a conversation with you! Be safe, Cory |
