2nd Grade Snippets - Week of May 5th
Our end-of-year assessments have been completed and the class did a fantastic job! We had a popsicle reward for each student who met or exceeded their NWEA growth goal on each test. For the reading assessment, 75% met or exceeded their goal, with another 10% being within one point of meeting it. On the math assessment, 90% met or exceeded their goal. Finally with DIBELS, 70% of students met the EOY benchmark, up from 50% at the mid-year assessment. I'm very proud of the effort each student put forth during this testing period!
The PTO sponsored K-2 field trip is coming up this Friday. Chaperones will be receiving information about their groups in student folders on Tuesday. As usual, all students should wear a red or CCA shirt and have a sack lunch. Thankfully, it appears that the weather should cooperate for our lunch at the park. If you haven't yet signed the Google Form permission slip for your child to watch A Dog's Way Home, please do so no later than Tuesday.
We hope to see many of you at the Meet & Greet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to learn more about the Principal/Director finalists. Please refer to the April 29th post for details and the link to submit questions to the applicants.
Please take a look at this week's 2nd Grade Snippets for information on what will be happening in this first full week of May.
