Monday PE Update 1.12.26
CCA PE CLASS
Progress is Our Flight Path
Good morning and happy Monday, CCA!
I am happy to be back! I’m afraid I missed out on the first week of classes, as snow on Friday kept me from coming in.
This semester, I’m focusing on grading rubrics that I’m aiming to have approved and sent out this coming week. Every class will be graded on Respect and Effort, while middle school students will also be graded on goal improvement, which will have its own rubric during Presidential Fitness Test days. I was very lenient last semester, but grades are important for tracking true progress and promoting accountability, helping students take ownership of their growth in PE.
I believe physical education is all about growth and setting personal goals. I love this quote:
“A dream written down with a date becomes a goal; a goal broken down becomes a plan: a plan backed by action makes dreams reality.”
PE this Week:
-
Grades 3-8: Introduction to badminton
-
Grades K-2: Fun activities like Confetti Bounce and Number Race to work on teamwork, number recognition, coordination, and locomotor skills
As always I’m excited to see our Cardinals soar, grow, and achieve their goals!
