This event will take place on Friday starting at 7:30am. Use this link to sign up for breakfast contributions. We appreciate the help!
Gift Exchange- Students are to bring a gift of no more than $35 for the gift exchange. We will do a game to determine who gets what gift. Gifts should be something any middle school student would like. Students who do not bring a gift will not participate. |
Students need to choose whether they will attend the dance at Weld Central Middle School or stay at CCA for an afternoon of games and other activities. Parents need to arrange their own transportation if their child decides to attend the dance. The dance costs $5; student should bring the money to the dance on Friday.
The dance starts at 1:30pm and goes until 3pm. If students do attend the dance, they should not return to the CCA middle school once the dance ends.
Students should inform homeroom teachers Wednesday morning if they are going to the dance or staying at CCA. |

Science FairScience Fair judging and presentations are this coming Wednesday! Students should dress professionally and practice their presentation at home on Tuesday evening. :) I would love for you to listen and give them feedback!
There will be an awards assembly on Thursday morning, at 7:40am. Parents of students who are receiving awards will be notified. |
Here's The Happenings: |
Science: Students will practice presenting science fair presentations on Tuesday, as well as review Light and Sound. They should have their science fair slideshows and conclusions finished by Tuesday. On Wednesday, students will take an assessment on Light and Sound using their study guides.
Homework: Completed science fair slideshow and conclusion. 12/16 Finished study guide. 12/17
Math: Chapter 3- Graphing Linear Functions Friday we finished our last lesson on transformations with absolute value equations. We will review on Tuesday and test on Wednesday. Students were given a “cheat sheet” of sorts that they will be allowed to use on their test.
Homework: 3.8 Worksheet- odds only (evens for EC) due Tuesday
Social Studies: Students will be learning about the Cold War. They will take their unit assessment on Tuesday. Their study guide is on Ducksters, and their notes. |

English: The 8th graders will be continuing The Life of Frederick Douglass. They will be finishing Chapter 9 this week. This unit will continue after break.
Writing & Research: Middle school has officially finished their science fair essays. This week will be packed with fun Christmas activities to review different elements they have already learned.
STEM: Students will wrap up current projects as they are able. Any unfinished project stations will continue after break. |

Eligibility for WCMS Sports is pulled on Thursdays. Missing assignments must be turned in to teachers by 7:30am Thursday morning. Missing flags can be removed from the gradebook before pulling eligibility, but assignments may not be graded. Most of the time, they will be graded along with other assignments from the week.
Please remind your athlete that they are expected to check in with their elective teachers/classes for their make-up work, due to leaving for practice and games. Depending on the class, material may need to be self taught using the teacher provided resources. |
