Here's The Happenings: |
Science: We have kicked off our last unit of the year- Animal Behavior! We explored the types of behavior, one of which is conditioning. Have you heard of Pavlov’s dogs? This unit is one of my favorites as we try to understand why animals, including ourselves, behave the way we do. Students will have a test on May 15th, and an animal training project to present on May 13th. More info on the project will be sent out next week!
Homework: Animal Behavior Worksheet, Due Wednesday
Math: Chapter 8- Functions I am looking forward to being back with the students on Tuesday. When I return, we will recap what they have discussed about functions as well as continue our learning with understanding linear functions as well as some non-linear functions.
Homework: 7.2 Extra Practice Wkst- due Tuesday
Social Studies: Students will be finishing up their unit on WW2. They will learn about the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They will also learn about the Nuremberg Trials and the end of the war. They will take their unit assessment at the end of the week. |

English: Seventh grade will continue reading The Harlem Renaissance unit. We are so close to the end of the school year, and I truly appreciate your support in encouraging your student to stay focused and finish the year strong.
Writing & Research: Writing and research classes will be finishing their morphology unit next week. Students will end the unit with a fun project that allows them to apply their knowledge by creating a comic book.
As a reminder, all students are completing weekly reading journal entries. Students should have a current book that they are reading regularly.
By May 8, students should have at least one book completed. Once a book is finished, they will choose and complete one project from the choice board that has been provided to them. Please help remind your student to continue reading consistently at home. Thank you for your support! Please note that the due date for the 8th grade project will be Tuesday, May 12th. |
