7th Grade News- 3/22
Congrats to all of our CCA middle school students and their extra curricular activities this past quarter! We are honored to see our students participate and excel in athletics, the arts, and academics.

Here's The Happenings: |
Science: Invertebrate exploration continued with sponges, cnidarians, and echinoderms! The students learned about these strange, yet interesting, animals. We also reviewed animal classification and practiced our research skills on animal samples. This unit will continue into the first part of April, as we have 4 more invertebrate phylums to learn about.
Homework Due 3/25: Worksheet on Sponges & Cnidarians
Math: Chapter 6-Solving Systems of Linear Equations Your awesome 7th grade student(s) have really asked great questions this week during their review. They have made sure to be checked for understanding and clarification multiple times. Not everyone finished their test today, so these will be finished on Tuesday. All students will be allowed to review their work/answers. On IXL students are practicing skills recently learned and in small groups they are finishing Probability. Homework: No homework, work on missing assignments/absent work, corrections EC opportunity: Chapter 6 Book Test due Friday, March 27th
Social Studies: Students will be learning about WW2. They will learn about Europe and Japan, making Americans fight a two front war, including Pearl Harbor and the Pacific theater battles, and America’s involvement starting with the Battle of Normandy. |

English: 7th grade will begin their Harlem Renaissance unit after break. This past week and into the upcoming week, students are reviewing important grammar skills and enjoying analysis of some of Edgar Allan Poe’s most famous works.
Writing & Research: Our Writing and Research classes have begun a new poetry unit! Students have started exploring different types of poems and discussing how poets use language creatively. |

Relay For Life Week!Don't forget our Relay For Life Week! Students can make a $5 donations, or more, for dress up week! The school's goal is to raise $2,500 total! Thank you for supporting the American Cancer Association!
