Math: Unit 4 (Ch. 3-8th GB)- Angles & Triangles It was so great to see all the smiling faces as we returned from break! Starting off we reviewed the first couple lessons that we learned from last semester and have moved onto how we find the sum of the angle measures in different size polygons- ask your student how many degrees are in a 43-sided figure. We are also discussing how to use similar triangles to find missing angles or sides. Next week we will continue on with using our similar triangles as well as review for our test on Friday, January 9th.
Homework: none!
Social Studies: Students will be learning about the Great depression. Beginning with the great boom after the war to the stock market crash. We will learn about the Oakie migration and watch the Grapes of Wrath. |

Writing & Research: This week in Writing and Research, students began by discussing their academic goals for the semester. Moving forward, this class will continue to strengthen students’ writing skills through structured practice, research-based assignments, and lessons on new grammar concepts. Encourage your child to share some of the transition words they’ve learned and how they plan to use them in their writing! |
