• Elective Showcase- students will sample the cooking class's final project and view work from additional elective classes. This will be a fun experience celebrating the work of our students!
• The Goonies with an academic spin
• Weld Central MS Dance or CCA Game Party
• Locker and Binder Clean-out. Students do not need to bring backpacks on Friday.

7th Graders will have a Christmas Celebration on Friday, December 19th that will start with breakfast and a white elephant gift exchange.

If you would like to participate in the gift exchange, bring a wrapped gift. Students will draw a number to decide which order they pick a gift. A gift is able to be stolen twice. Gifts should be between $15-20.

Students need to choose whether they will attend the dance at Weld Central Middle School or stay at CCA for an afternoon of games and other activities. Parents need to arrange their own transportation if their child decides to attend the dance. The dance costs $5; student should bring the money to the dance on Friday.

The dance starts at 1:30pm and goes until 3pm. If students do attend the dance, they should not return to the CCA middle school once the dance ends.

Students should inform homeroom teachers Wednesday morning if they are going to the dance or staying at CCA.

Science Fair

Science Fair judging and presentations are this coming Wednesday! Students should dress professionally and practice their presentation at home on Tuesday evening. :) I would love for you to listen and give them feedback!

There will be an awards assembly on Thursday morning, at 7:40am. Parents of students who are receiving awards will be notified.

Here's The Happenings:

Science:  Students have two main tasks to wrap up this week; science fair presentations and pressure demonstrations.  On Tuesday we will finish up science fair slideshows and practice presenting.  Students were instructed to finish conclusions and slideshows this weekend by Tuesday.  We will wrap up our pressure and density unit with demonstrations on the principle laws.  Students should be prepared to do these on Wednesday.

Math: Unit 4 (Ch. 3-8th GB)- Angles & Triangles

The students are catching on quickly to our unit on angles. We are bringing in those solving equations skills that we learned about earlier in the year and also applying new skills to finding congruent angles (angles that have the same measure). This is a quick chapter and I will just do a quick summative test with them on Wednesday.

Homework: 3.2 Worksheet due Tuesday; EC opportunity on GC due 12/17

Social Studies: Students will be learning about the roaring 20’s. They will finish their biography presentations about famous people from the 20’s. We will also learn about the technological advancements throughout the 20’s.

English:  7th grade has finished The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. They will not be starting a new unit till after break. Instead they will be reviewing different elements they have already learned. 

Writing & Research: Middle school has officially finished their science fair essays. 

This week will be packed with fun Christmas activities to review different elements they have already learned.

STEM: Students will wrap up current projects as they are able. Any unfinished project stations will continue after break.

Eligibility for WCMS Sports is pulled on Thursdays. Missing assignments must be turned in to teachers by 7:30am Thursday morning. Missing flags can be removed from the gradebook before pulling eligibility, but assignments may not be graded. Most of the time, they will be graded along with other assignments from the week.

Please remind your athlete that they are expected to check in with their elective teachers/classes for their make-up work, due to leaving for practice and games. Depending on the class, material may need to be self taught using the teacher provided resources.
