Here's The Happenings: |
Science: This coming week we will be reviewing our unit content on the skin, muscles, and immune system. This unit has some tricky vocabulary terms; students should be reviewing them at home too! Our unit test will be on Friday this week. Please note that 7th grade science takes place in the afternoon. If your child is absent, they will be expected to take the test the day we get back from Thanksgiving break (first Tuesday back). Students may take the test on Thursday this week if they are planning to be gone on Friday.
Homework: Skin, Muscles, Immune System Study Guide, DUE 11/19
Science Fair: I will continue sending out private messages to parents Tuesday and Wednesday this week. If you haven’t received one from me yet, be on the lookout!
Math: Unit 3- Transformations The students have done well with understanding and being able to show different transformations. Please just encourage your students to make sure they read and follow ALL directions. Our lesson on rotations is a prime example where the students showed me that they could rotate an object, but they did not follow all directions, which led to low scores on their practice. They will get these back on Tuesday, and will be able to work on corrections throughout the week. We also worked on congruent figures, please ask your student what it means for a figure to be congruent.
Next week we will work on dilating objects, finding similar figures as well as discussing the relationship between the areas and perimeters of similar figures. After Thanksgiving break we will start to review our chapter and Test, Thursday, December 4th.
Homework: None 😀Enjoy the weekend!
Social Studies: Students will be finishing up the Russian Revolution. They will be working on a gameboard, to teach others about the Russian Revolution, then will get to play each other's games. Then we will learn about the Red Scare in America. |
|
English: 7th grade will be continuing The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Writing & Research: Middle school students began reviewing their science fair essays this week, working to complete them one paragraph at a time.
Homework: First body paragraph completed Historical context & Scientist background outline |

Eligibility for WCMS Sports is pulled on Thursdays. Missing assignments must be turned in to teachers by 7:30am Thursday morning. Missing flags can be removed from the gradebook before pulling eligibility, but assignments may not be graded. Most of the time, they will be graded along with other assignments from the week.
Please remind your athlete that they are expected to check in with their elective teachers/classes for their make-up work, due to leaving for practice and games. Depending on the class, material may need to be self taught using the teacher provided resources. |
