Science: We have entered the world of cells with exploring the various organelles. The organelle names are odd sounding and unusual. We tied each organelle to a city object, with the metaphor of all organelles working together to make the cell function. Ask your child what organelles plant cells have that animal cells do not! 🙂
Homework Due 2/18: Cells Worksheet

English: 6th grade started reading The Odyssey this week. Talk with your student about what they read in the first two stories. Asking them questions over the weekend will help them recall the information during the week. Parents, please be on the lookout for information about the 6th grade Spring Auction Basket. This year’s theme is Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book.
Writing & Research: In Writing and Research this week, middle school students continued working on commonly confused words. They will be finishing this unit next week. Starting in March, we will begin a poetry unit. |
