Science: Our week was filled with science fair projects and studying stars! We started our December unit by exploring constellations and galaxy basics. We had a good discussion about the connection between constellations, mythology, and history. We also begin our science fair experiments! Students will finish up experiments next week, as well as learn about the life of a star. Thank you for the support you have given your child in science this year!
Homework: Constellation Packet, Parts A and B, DUE 12/10

This week we worked on understanding Absolute Value as well as completing our mid-year NWEA testing. Please ask your student what absolute value measures? Next week we will work with the coordinate plane- graphing points, polygons, and using our absolute values to find distances between points. We will skip the writing inequalities portion of this chapter as we will cover this in a later chapter. We will finish up with doing our chapter review next week and Test the last week before break! All missings/corrections need to be turned in no later than Friday, December 12th.

They have worked on adding a thesis statement as well as topic sentences. On Monday or Tuesday, we will focus on completing the introduction and concluding paragraphs. Then, on Thursday or Friday, they will finalize and make finishing touches.

Eligibility for WCMS Sports is pulled on Thursdays. Missing assignments must be turned in to teachers by 7:30am Thursday morning. Missing flags can be removed from the gradebook before pulling eligibility, but assignments may not be graded. Most of the time, they will be graded along with other assignments from the week.
Please remind your athlete that they are expected to check in with their elective teachers/classes for their make-up work, due to leaving for practice and games. Depending on the class, material may need to be self taught using the teacher provided resources. |
