Kindergarten News 2-6-26
*It’s a busy time of year! There’s so much going on…please settle in for a few minutes and read through all the updates I have to share. 🙂
*Please sign up for conferences if you haven’t already done so. The Parent Square containing the sign-up went out on Tuesday. The current conference list is at the very bottom of this newsletter.
*Losing pencils has been an issue lately. To help build responsibility, students who lose their pencil will move their clip down on the behavior chart. We’ve been practicing keeping track of our supplies and I’m hopeful this will be a good motivator. When a pencil is lost, it stops all learning and teaching while that child is digging around in their desk. (We do get fresh pencils each Friday.)
*CCA's PTO puts on an amazing dinner and auction each spring. This year, the event is scheduled for Friday, March 6th @ the Southeast Weld County Fairgrounds in Keenesburg. Each class puts a basket together to be auctioned off. The theme this year correlates with Dr. Seuss's birthday...each class is picking a Dr. Seuss book and basing their basket around that idea. Kindergarten's book is Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! Karsyn Herman has graciously offered to organize this for us, and she's put together an Amazon wish list with items that would go well in our basket. Check out the link here: amazon
Feel free to purchase other items besides the ones on the list. We're going for a creativity/arts & crafts theme. Items purchased on Amazon can ship right to me. Please have all items ordered by March 1st. (My husband was happy to learn all the packages at our front door the other day were not purchases I had made, haha!) Thank you to everyone who has already purchased items!
*If you haven’t already, please take a couple minutes to complete the PTO survey. You can do so anonymously, if you choose! Form
*Parent Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. PTO could use some help bringing in some goodies for teachers. Please sign up at the link below to bring an item or two. Thank you for your help!
(As a teacher, I can say we greatly appreciate the wonderful treats on conference nights!)
*This special day is almost here--Grandparent’s Day/Valentine’s Day will be on Friday, February 13th from 7:30-8:40.
-Grandparent’s Day is a special tradition in Kindergarten. Students will enjoy a variety of fun activities and quality time with their grandparents (or special guests). Parents are welcome to stay and observe, though activities will be designed for students and their grandparents.
