Kindergarten News 12-1-25
*Good morning! I hope your family’s Thanksgiving was peaceful and full of joy. I’m ready to see those 20 sweet faces tomorrow. Can you believe, 12 school days remain in this semester? There’s SO MUCH going on. Please check it all out below…
*With December upon us, we may find ourselves with a snow day one of these days. In the event of one, you will be notified by the district/CCA through ParentSquare. The same is true if we have a delayed start (which means school begins on a 2-hour delay). Just a heads-up, in the case of a delayed start, your child will not need a morning snack.
*Kindergarten will have a gift exchange during our Christmas Party on Friday, December 19th. The price limit is $15. Girls will bring a wrapped gift for a girl; boys will bring a wrapped gift for a boy. Gifts need to be brought in on Wednesday, December 17th (no sooner, please). If this is a hardship for your family, please just let me know.
*Parents, please join us for our Kindergarten Christmas Party at 1:30 on Friday, December 19th (in our classroom). The schedule for that special afternoon is as follows:
1:30-2:20 Christmas Party in the Kindergarten Room (we’ll have our gift exchange, the kids will have gifts to give to you, and the kids will eat)
2:20-2:40 Recess
2:45 Primary (K, 1 & 2) Christmas Program in the Gym
Due to space limitations in our classroom, I’d encourage other family members, such as grandparents, to attend only the Christmas Program in the gym, rather than the party in our room. 🙂 Younger siblings may attend the party in the classroom, if needed.
*During our party on the 19th, the kids will get goody bags (like during the Halloween costume parade). If you’d like to sign-up to help with these, here is the link.
*December is a month filled with middle-of-the-year assessments. One assessment I’ll be completing with your child is DIBELS (I shared this information with you at P/T Conferences in October). Mrs. Hyberg and I will also be pulling kids one-on-one to complete some assessments that will help me complete report cards, which will come home in January when we return from Christmas break.
*CCA’s National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a dress-up week the last week before Christmas break. See the themed days in the date list below (I have them highlighted in purple--no fee to dress-up, it’s just for fun!). They are also hosting a Hot Cocoa Bar on Tuesday the 16th…$2 for a regular hot chocolate and $3 for a hot chocolate with toppings. If you’d like to order this for your child, money is due by Friday, December 12th. Money raised goes to the Weld County Elves.
