Good Afternoon, We have one week until Christmas Break! This semester has flown by. It is crazy to think these students are half way through 3rd grade.
This week will be a balance of work and fun. We are wrapping up our math and CKLA units, and there will be assessments. The end of the week we will have our holiday breakfast (we still need parent volunteers for this). The breakfast counts as our party, then later we will watch a movie and enjoy the K-2nd Christmas concert. There is also a spirit week happening! Tuesday- Santa Day, Wednesday- Ugly Sweaters, Thursday- Polar Express PJ Day, and Friday- Dress Festive!
Next semester we go from learning to be 3rd graders to preparing to be 4th graders. Students will be expected to write in cursive full time, write paragraphs and eventually essays, complete state testing and more in the next semester. No worries, this class is ready for the challenge!

Math: Finish Ch 5- test on Thursday.
Fact fluency: Our fact challenge is underway. Students can earn prizes for passing each level of multiplication 0-10’s.
Congrats Eve and Easton for mastering all their facts already!!
CKLA: Light and sound domain, where students learn about the qualities of light and sound and how it is all made. We will have a review that counts as an assessment on Thursday.
Literacy: We will read about Light and Sound in our readers.
RIGGS: Tuesday test #131, Wednesday test #132, Thursday test #133.
Writing: Opinion Writing.
