 Middle School Band Update 12/1/09 Hello everyone. I have just a few updates for all of you and a couple of favors. First of all, the winter concert is only a week and a half away. Yes, it's almost December 11th already. Please block off that day in your schedule. The concert is in the early evening. I will provide more details as they become available. The band goes relatively early in the program, so if for some reason you need to book it somewhere, you can. Although, it would be greatly appreciated if all students stayed for the entire performance. Also, I will be having lessons with everyone on Thursday this week. Please remember to bring your instruments (percussionists will be okay, I have enough sticks) Next Tuesday (a week from today), I would like to have the percussionists in for a 15 minute sectional before school. I would like to start promptly at 7:15 so please try to be a couple minutes early. I would also like to hold over the band for 15 minutes (until 3:45) to polish up some rough ends we have right now. It would essentially be an extension of the class period. I know everyone at this school is dependent on others for rides, so let me know if this will not work for you. I will be in again on Thursday giving lessons. We will be working on our two pieces for the program. A week from Friday we will have a rehearsal at the Junior High during the school day. Make sure that your son/daughter remembers to bring their instrument that day!!! Finally, the Tuesday after the concert, students do not need their instruments. |
